Mark Jackson

Mark was educated at Methodist College, Belfast before attending University in England to study law.  Upon graduating he returned to Northern Ireland and completed the Certificate in Professional Legal Studies at The Queen's University of Belfast so as to become a Solicitor.  He was apprenticed to Mrs Lorraine Thompson, the founder of Thompsons Solicitors, and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997.  He is now the Managing Partner.  His practice is wide ranging although he  largely deals with all business and commercial matters.  He acts for a number of business and commercial clients dealing with all of their legal affairs from conveyancing to disputes and litigation.  He also acts for a number of property developer clients.  In addition he deals with the administration and winding up of estates, some personal injury litigation and some residential conveyancing.

He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.  He assisted as a Tutor at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at The Queen's University of Belfast from 1997 to 2000.

 

Simon Willis

Simon was educated at Royal School Armagh and then read law at The Queen's University of Belfast.  He completed the Certificate of Professional Legal Studies at The Queen's Unversity of Belfast to become a Solicitor and served his apprenticeship at a large Belfast firm.  He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997 and immediately upon qualification took up a post with Thompsons Solicitors going on to become a Partner in 2003.  He specialises in all aspects of family law including separation, divorce, ancillary relief and related matters.  He has received a number of mentions in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession over the last few years as one of the best Solicitors in the area of family law in Northern Ireland.  The 2007 Guide states 'Peers have "no problem recommending" Simon Willis to clients'.  Simon also undertakes some other areas of work including personal injury litigation and writing Wills.
